I have planned to go out taking some photos today but it's raining and my daughter refuses to go to kindergarten. So we just stay at home, watching TV, playing and learning A B C . . .

More photo of Gladmat 2009. As you can see here, some stands sell their food in a boat. I would like to try it but there were a long queue. Today is the last day, so hurry up, try some delicious foods and enjoy the nice weather.

Gladmat 2009

Once more it is time for Gladmat Food Festival in Stavanger. A total of 108 local restaurants and food producers move their business out into the streets around the central harbor in Stavanger. This event will end on 25th July.

This yearly festival is very popular among locals and tourists alike. Gladmat presents the great variety of food and food culture in Rogaland. More info here

Ancient Monument 2

This is Tinghaug, approximately 40 m south-south-west of Grønhaug, the highest point (102 m a.s.l.) on lower Jæren. The name and the tradition indicate that the area served as a Thing site.

Ancient Monument 1

Grønhaug is a grave monument built above the grave of a man who died in the late Iron Age. The standing stone was erected by the person who excavated the mound in 1879.

The View

I stayed over in my best friend's house last weekend, who live in Kleppe, a village in, also the administrative center of, the municipality of Klepp, located outside Stavanger.

The photo was taken from RV 505 over Frøylandsvannet lake facing towards Klepp. Across the lake there is an ancient monuments which I will show you tomorrow.

This is my daughter Bella. She has finished in the kindergarten and will start going to barneskole (primary school) in August. So, while waiting for the time she accompanies me wherever I go :)

New Advertisement

This new advertisement is in the bus stop at Rosenli. They change it quite often. I used to wait for the bus number 4 there after delivering my second daughter to the kindergarden. Yesterday it was cloudy and raining.

I'm Back!

Dear Stavanger visitors, after spending a wonderful holiday in my home country, finally I'm back on the track. To be honest I wanted to end this blog due to this and that but your very nice and friendly comments change my mind. So, here I am. I will continue posting photos of my beautiful town but not on a daily basis anymore coz I have to do something else which is important too for my new life.
