This is a pathway in between houses in Forus. In the newer housing areas one try to build path like this away from traffic.

I really like this concept. It is nice for taking out the children without worrying about the passing cars

Vest teknikk is a privat owned company selling technical protection, like breathing aparatus for gas-filled areas and gas meters.

Aker Solutions

Aker Solutions have many offices in Stavanger. This one is in Forus. The centre, named Aker Well Intervention Academy, lies at Forus just outside Stavanger on Norway‘s west coast. The centre offers training and testing facilities for personell and equipment. Aker Solutions and partners ConocoPhilips, StatoilHydro and Talisman have all invested in the project, which will improve operations and safety offshore.

Houses Series # 14

These row houses were made just two years ago in Godeset. The area is suburb to Stavanger and has many apartments, row houses and houses. Many that live here work in Stavanger and Forus.

House Series # 69

This grand house is located in Godalen. As you see it is well kept and the owners have made the garden looks very attractive.

Maersk Oil and ABB

This is a building located in Forus which house two engineering companies Maersk Oil and ABB.

Stavanger Traffikstasjon

Biltilsynet in Stavanger is where you get your driver license. It is located in Forus beside Sola Golf Course. In Norway you can take driver license when you are 18 years old and it is a big day when you finally have it in your hand.

Søregata

Søregata, South street, is pretty much smack in the center of Stavanger. It has small shops and lead up to the Stavanger cinema. With the cobblestones I think it is very quaint.

New Building

Here a couple have bought an old house on a valuable peace of land. They build their new home and continue to live in the old house. I will post later as it develop.

Rosendal Sykehjem

A nice and well kept home for the elderly. Here they are looked after well, and it is safe and good for the last years of one's life.

Trees

Here are some small trees and scrubs getting ready for spring. Not long now until leaves are peeping out and the world turn green yet again.

House Series # 68

This is a new house built in wood. Wood, although it needs more maintenance, is better suited for cold climate.

Houses Series # 13

These row houses are also located in Godalen. They are colorful and well kept. It is like a very small village in the area.

Apartment Series # 32

There are two apartments blocks like this in Godalen. This is on the South end of Storhaug which is a neighbourhood of Stavanger. My father-in-law lives here and brother to my husband is moving soon in the other block. This cooperative housing is very well kept and going down to the right is the beach.

Solsikken Barnehage

This is a cute small kindergarden in Godalen. Solsikken means sunflower.

Graffiti # 5

There are not many graffiti here in Stavanger. I found this one in the corner of a building in Hillevåg area. I have no idea what does it mean. Maybe just a name, Cilo?

Lonely but Lovely Benches

This small garden is a part of the Køhlerhuset backyard. I think these two benches are lovely.

A Place to Relax

These two benches are located close to Ledaal Teppeveveri. I am of the opinion that benches in Stavanger should have roof over them, due to elements which we have much of here. Besides that, nothing beats sitting on the bench in the sun taking a little quality time.

Ledaal Teppeveveri

Cathrine Hærem is the third generation weaver in a family that have followed tradition as well as gone new paths. They started in 1949 and their first commission was from Ledaal (the King's residence when in Stavanger and Aleksander Kiellands home) and so the company got a good name. Below you can see some of the thread that goes into the carpet. It is wool spun around jute, and the warp is made from linen. This gives carpet that is incredible strong and do not wear out easily. You can have them in any colour and size. You can visit them here.

House Series # 67

This house is located next to the house posted yesterday. It is a bigger house but just as intriguing. I'm sorry about the trailer in front, someone is probably moving furniture themselves.

House Series # 66

A lovely house located in Godalen. The small building on the left is the garage and the shed. The house is only a year old but it was built in an older style. I like it a lot.

Statue # 18

This is a statue of Christian Bjelland, who was born in 1858 in Stavanger and died in 1927. Christian Bjelland is the name that most people in Norway would associate with Stavanger as well as the canning industry. He was the founder of Chr. Bjelland & Co A/S, Norway's largest canned goods producer and amongst the largest in Scandinavia. More info here.

Apartment Series # 31

This apartment is located in Rosenli area. It is a quiet and nice place to live. There is a playground for children to play and close to the beach.

Cinema Ticket Machine

If you want to book a ticket beforehand, you go to the internet and log-in to the website to the cinema and pay with your credit card, then you get a code, you log in to this machine and it print out your ticket.

Cold and Wet

It's March already but we are still in the grips of winter. Today I really miss the sun beating down on me, hot hot hot.

March 2009 Theme Day - Glass

This month's theme day is about glass. These pictures was taken from Brødrene Pedersen in city center. This shop sells everything you can think of dressing your table. Glasses and plates, cutlery and porcelain, every type of meal will be truly a grand occasion.
